Financial Planning and Tax Preparation, Handled by One Team

More than four decades of working with families has taught us that the details matter as much as the strategy. It's a financial picture that's organized, with an advisor who knows your situation well enough to be useful when it matters most.

What We DoPlanning Without the Gaps

When your financial advisor and your accountant are two different people at two different firms, things tend to fall through the gaps. Information gets re-explained, decisions don't always line up, and the work of coordinating it all lands on you. We're set up to handle everything in one place, which means the person building your retirement plan is also the one who sees exactly what your tax picture looks like, year-round.

Frequently Asked QuestionsGood Things to Know Before We Talk

These are the questions that come up often from people thinking seriously about their financial future and whether they have the right team in place. If something here resonates, it might be worth a conversation.

  • Yes. As independent financial advisors, we're not tied to specific products or strategies, which means every recommendation we make is based on what's right for your situation, not what generates a commission.

That standard has been at the center of this practice from the start. We've always believed that doing right by the people we work with is how you build something worth having, and nearly five decades of client relationships make a reasonable case for it.

  • You should expect a lot of communication with us early on as we get to know you and your situation. We meet you at your preferred method of communication (in-person, Zoom, phone calls, or email).

We like to check in with new clients quarterly for the first year. Once we're confident that all urgent planning is accomplished and you're ready to fall into a more sustainable cadence, we suggest two strategy review meetings a year, one of which can include tax prep and review. In the background, we'll be monitoring and rebalancing portfolios, planning analysis, tax strategies, etc.

You will also receive a monthly newsletter from us, which is meant to be a simple check in, and provide education on relevant topics.

One of the best values we can offer is being here when you need it. While other professionals in your life might require scheduling distant appointments, we do our best to answer the phone and rush to action when your urgent matters come up. The best ability is availability. As a client you have unlimited contact and communication with our whole team - we're here you.

  • Most of the people we serve have built portfolios of at least $750,000 and are ready to delegate.

All advisory relationships are subject to a $7,500 minimum annual fee (1% of $750,000). If the cost under our standard asset-based schedule falls below that amount, the minimum may be applied. This structure is designed for more people to get access to thorough financial advice, regardless of current net worth.

Please reach out if you would like more clarity and to discuss your specific situation. If we're not the right fit, we'll do our best to answer your questions, provide guidance, and connect you with someone who might be.

  • There is no initial consultation fee to meet with us. That is an opportunity for us to show our value. After you sleep on it, if you'd like to continue discussions, it's reasonable to have a second meeting before decisions are made to become a client.

When you decide to work with us, that means delegating as much as you can and gaining your time back. One of those delegations is the management and oversight of your portfolio.

We charge a fee that’s a percentage of the value of the investments we manage, which is debited directly from the accounts:

—1% on the first $1,000,000 we manage
    —0.75% between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000
    —0.50% between $5,000,000 and $25,000,000
    —0.40% on amounts above $25,000,000

These costs cover all financial planning (investment, tax, estate, insurance, etc.).

Clients get free tax preparation every year as an in-house service. Beyond the convenience and saving clients on accountant fees, this helps us analyze results of tax planning every year, and keeps us accountable of our tax advice.

The best way to know if we're a good fit is to have a real conversation about where you are and what you're looking for. There's no cost to that first meeting, so reach out whenever you're ready and we'll take it from there.
